New Stretch Goal: Illustrated Heroes -- and Less Than 32 Hours to Go

We did it! We hit our $11,000 Stretch Goal and blew past it. That means we are going to put the illustrated map in your books!
Thanks to all of you! And a special thanks goes out to Derek M. who backed the Dedication Reward Tier and shot us past the $11,000 mark. We'll have to draft a very cool dedication to you Derek. Maybe something like, "To Derek, who would've been a Redthorn had you only been born in the proper universe." If anyone has suggestions, especially you Derek, put them in the comments below.
New Stretch Goal -- $12,000: Illustrated Heroes
If we hit $12,000, our Art Director Jeff Harvey will add 3 black and white illustrations -- one each of Marek, Thane and Teela.
A Sample of Jeff's Illustrations from Fantastic Worlds Anthology
I think this would make a great addition to this book.
Final Hours
So, thanks for sharing as we head to the finish line. Let's hit that goal! Here's the link:
You Can Be The Hero -- Dedication Reward Level

Dear Backers and Fans:
Thank you for the support from all 304 of you! 3 days left as we go into Thanksgiving (for those of us in the USA). I'm looking forward to some pie.
But first I wanted to provide an update. When we're setting these reward tiers, we're always listening to feedback about what people want. We don't normally adjust tiers (and Kickstarter doesn't allow it, except in the case when a reward has not yet been backed) but this one is special. It's just for one person.
The Dedication.
Instead of an arbitrary phrase, pithy as it may be, we'll dedicate the book to you.
That would be pretty awesome to have your name in everyone's books and on bookshelves all over. Maybe it should say something like:
To [Your Name Here] whose might surpasses even that of Szorlok.
We're open to your suggestions (give us some in the comments below) and especially the suggestions of the one who backs that tier.
So with 3 days left, we've dropped the price for the Dedication Tier from $2,000 to only $575. That's much more in range for most of backers (myself included). It also includes all of Kevin's books + more. But hurry, there's a limit of only 1 backer who will get Mythica dedicated to him or her.
Map Stretch Goal.
Plus, if just one hero backs us at this level, then we'll hit our stretch goal of $11,000. That means illustrated maps of the world of Mythica in everyone's books! (See previous update for more on that).
We've also adjusted the Novel Review Reward Tier from $1,000 to $500, and the Short Story Review Tier to $275.
We're so close! Happy Thanksgiving, and as always, thanks for sharing the project link in its final hours.
Stretch Goals -- Mythica Map

We did it! We reached our funding goal of $10,000!
So, to celebrate, let's talk stretch goals.
Stretch Goal #1 -- $11,000:
If we hit $11,000, we will create a illustration of the World of Mythica in the book!
The World of Mythica from the board game
The map pictured above (not the final map) is if from the Mythica Board Game. We'll be using that, plus other maps provided by Jason, Kynan, and the rest of the Arrowstorm staff to create an approved map of the World of Mythica. The final map will be printed in black and white in the book.
New Add-On! Fantasy Anthology:
Since you are lovers of the Fantasy genre, we're offering a new add-on: an e-book version of Fantastic Worlds: A Fantasy Anthology!
Not only does this anthology include our very own Kevin L. Nielsen, it also includes Christie Golden, award-winning and seven-time New York Times bestselling author who has written books in the worlds of Star Trek, World of Warcraft, Starcraft, and Star Wars. The anthology also features Cameron Dayton, who has written for video games and worlds such as Diablo, Warcraft, Starcraft, Undertow, and Advent Rising. There are 12 stories in all.
For just $8, you can get the e-book version of Fantastic Worlds in the format of your choice. Just up your pledge and then select Fantastic Worlds as an add-on.
Let's hit that $11,000 goal and get those maps made!
We love you guys!

We Made It!

We made it! I'm over-the-moon happy that we hit the initial goal with some time still left in the campaign to work on some stretch goals. Those will be announced by the folks at Future House Publishing very soon.
You guys are the absolute best ever! Words cannot express how grateful I am.
On top of that, we hit (and surpassed) the 275 backer benchmark for getting a snippet of the novel. True to my word, I'll share that with you all. However, I also want to give anyone who doesn't want to read it yet the chance to avoid it entirely. Some people don't like spoilers or teasers at all, and I can respect that.
To accommodate those individuals, I posted the snippet (the prologue) on my website. Follow the link below to go read it if you want to get a sneak peak.
Author Update # 4

I write books relatively quickly, though I’m not a fast writer, in general. My words per minute isn’t significant. What I am is a consistent writer. When I’m working on a project, I write daily, for several hours, and average about 1500-2500 words a day, every day.
After the meeting with Jason and Kynan and armed with the information I needed to pound out that initial draft, I had it done in only a few short weeks. It was a short initial draft (only about 43,000 words), imperfect, and WAY too cinematic still, but it was done. I hadn’t added anything new to the manuscript that wasn’t in the movie yet, nor had I seen any of the other movies.
It was a pretty grueling process for me because not only was I balancing working a full-time day job, but also finishing up revisions and re-writes for the third book in my Sharani Series at the same time. Add to that my family life, I was working pretty much non-stop from 6:30 am to about 1am the next morning every day for almost a month.
I decided to take a “break.”
For me, a regular writing break consists of starting the concept ideas for a new novel. That’s not what most would consider a break, but that is what works for me. This time, however, I’d just finished a 120,000 word novel (Skies) and drafted the Mythica: A Quest for Heroes manuscript in a very short amount of time. I needed a break from writing in general. So I…
…watched Mythica 2-5 and took character arc notes…
Yes, yes, I know. I’m the worst ever at the taking a break thing. Just ask my wife.
Anyway, that took a couple days. I watched the first movie a couple more times and then dove into writing some new and extended scenes. Then it was on to revisions!
